This kitchen appliance first heats up the heating element and then transfers the heat on to the main body. From there the heat gets transferred to the cooking pan. The overall time taken to cook depends on the type of material the pan is made up of. Metals such as aluminium and copper are better conductors of heat than any other element. These shorten the cooking time required by transferring the heat quickly. A rice cooker price should not dictate but the choice should be based on the type and quality of metals used to conduct electricity.

 

Some cookers are equipped with a technology called fuzzy logic. This technology reduces human intervention in the process substantially.  This automatically adjusts the temperature of the heating element. Thus, it slows down the heating process and prevents all the water from being absorbed or evaporated until the rice is completely cooked. Look for cookers enabled with the fuzzy logic technology to easily cook brown rice, sushi, or traditional white rice.

 

A buyer should check whether the cooker comes with a detachable lid. This helps in keeping the cooker clean. The material that the inner pot is made up of is important. A cheaper coating will wither away with time and usage. Apart from the quality of the materials used, the size of the cooker is also important. Don’t buy a large one for a small family.
